Some
notes about Paula ...
I have enjoyed drawing and painting
as far back as I can remember. As a young girl, my Christmas
presents usually included art supplies of some kind.
Although I attended college and received an Associate
Degree, my learning has been more "hands-on"
and "I wonder if I can do that?" kind of learning.
I have also taken evening classes from some very talented
people with a wealth of information to share.
As a mother of four and a grandmother of two, for many
years, artwork was in the form of children's birthday
cakes & Halloween costumes, or sewing clothes. Occasionally,
a commision for a home portrait, or a poster for church,
or decorating for a dance would scratch the artistic
itch. I also took opportunities to teach children's
art in a Chicago public school, and for the Fort Madison
Art Guild, along with Art Appreciation to the elementary
students in West Des Moines, IA.
Now that I have reached a time in my life where I have
the time and energy and resources to devote to more
artwork, I am looking forward to doing more of what
I love to do.
